Umbrella Day

It is the day to celebrate the umbrella! It is primarily used to keep us dry during raining times, but it is also used to help with lighting for photography. So lets learn more about the umbrella!

- Word umbrella comes from the Latin word "umbros" which means shade or shadow. 

- Up until the mid 18th century, umbrellas were mainly used in Europe as a female fashion accessory.

- A majority of modern umbrellas are made in China.

- Modern day umbrellas are coated with Teflon, which make them waterproof.

- Umbrellas can (and has been) be used as a weapon.
