It is Sock Monkey day! The day about a monkey that is made out of socks! My mom owns a Sock Monkey that she has had since before I was born. It has made an appearance in this photo.
Lets learn some stuff about Sock Monkeys:
- Socks Monkeys were created over 100 years ago.
- The creator of Sock Monkeys are unknown.
- Most vintage Sock Monkeys that are still around today are no older than the 1950's. Most are actually from the 1970's.
- Sock Monkeys were originally made out of brown socks with red heels. They are still made out of those today, although more are being made out of different colored socks or mis-matched socks.
