Thesaurus Day

It's a day for the English people in your life. A day to take ordinary, boring words and make them more interesting and exciting!

On this day  in 1779, Peter Mark Roget was born. Who is this person you ask? He is the one that wrote the first thesaurus. He liked making lists, so much so that it helped him to make the Thesaurus, in which similar words are listed together.

I know in school, I actually liked learning about the Thesaurus and its different words. It was SO much better than the dictionary. . . but that is mainly because every month in elementary school we had to look up 25 words from the dictionary and write ALL of the definitions, word for word, and turn it in. With a Thesaurus though, you can take normal words that we use all the time, and make them more interesting. This is expecially helpful for those going into the English or writing field.
