National Peeps Day

So I would think that this day would be before Easter, but I guess that I am wrong! Happy Peeps day! For those of you that like peeps (not me!), see if you can still find some peeps in the stores!

Lets learn some fun facts about our marshmellow friend:

- Peeps have a 2 year shelf life. So feel free to indulge in those peeps from last Easter!

- Peeps are the #1 non chocolate candy sold on Easter every year.

- American's alone consumer 600 million peeps on Easter each year.

- When peeps were first created in 1953 it would take 27 hours to make a peep. Today it only takes 6 minutes.

- Peeps were first made with wings, but the wings were clipped after only two years to make the peep more modern and sleek.

- Although the most common peeps are chicks and bunnies around Easter, they are now being created for other holidays such as Valentines Day, Halloween, and Christmas.

So if you like peeps, go enjoy some! If not, get your dog a chew toy that looks like a peep and let him have it!
