Silence Day (Doctor Who)

Silence will fall when the question is asked. Thats right - it's another Doctor Who holiday! So lets explain this holiday for those who have no idea why people are walking around with hash marks all over their body.

The Silence is an alien that you forget about the minute you look away from them. They have been around for thousand of years, and have helped to control what humans do. They do this by putting ideas into their head, and when they look away from them they feel compelled to do them. Almost like being hypnotized, but by an alien you never remember. They are big creatures wearing a suit, and can zap people into dust. The first episode that they were introduced was "The Impossible Astronaut". What happens is the Doctor and his Companions figure out that their is something, or someone, that they can never remember seeing. So when they see the Silence they put a hash mark on their body. Eventually they look in the mirror and see hundreds of hash marks on them, and realize that they have seen hundreds of silence and didn't even know it.

Thankfully (as far as we know) there are no Silence walking around. So have fun, and look weird with hash marks all over your face!
