Safety Pin Day

The Safety Pin! We use it for many things. Where would we be without it? Well it hasn't been around too long. It was patented in 1948 by a man named Walter Hunt who sold the rights for $400 to pay off a $15 debt!

The main time that I use safety pins tend to be when I am quilting. It actually comes in handing so that you can pin the whole thing down before machine quilting on the top. Using safety pins keeps the back, backing, and top of the quilt in place so that it doesn't get messed up for quilting.

You can use it for many other things though too:

- Use as a button (such as if your pants button breaks)

- Pin clothes (such as if they have holes)

- Jewelry (Necklace, braclet, etc)

- Guitar Pick

- Lock Pick

Be creative, and see what you can do with a safety pin!
